Travel Grants for Doctors/Researchers Aged 35 or Under
The ILC 2025 Travel Grant was established to foster global interaction among young doctors and researchers.
Abstract authors are encouraged to apply for the Travel Grant, as outlined below:
1. Number of Grants
Travel grants will be awarded to a maximum of 10 participants.
Priority will be given to applicants from countries with limited opportunities to attend international congresses or learning activities due to economic disadvantages.
2. Award Details
Transportation: Actual transportation costs will be reimbursed, up to a maximum of US$1,000.
Registration.
*These expenses will be reimbursed after ILC 2025, upon confirmation of your attendance.
Accommodation expenses will not be covered.
3. Application acceptance Period
From 12:00 PM (JST) on Thursday, February 1, 2025, to 12:00 PM (JST) on Tuesday, April 30, 2025 (Same as the application period for ILC 2025 abstracts.)
4. Eligible Applicants
Young overseas doctors/researchers, who live outside of Japan, without Japanese nationality, 35 years old or younger, as of September 25, 2025 (the first day of ILC 2025).
Please submit your CV, Statement of your interest in attending and presenting at ILC 2025 for application.
Once the selection has been approved, applicants will be required to submit the copy of passport and the confirmation letter of the head of department.
This letter needs to be signed by the head of department and should state applicant’s current work.
Applicants must pay the participation/registration fee of JPY 25,000 in advance. If selected for the Travel Grant, this fee will be refunded.
5. Selection Process
The ILC 2025 Committee will review abstracts submitted for ILC 2025 and select recipients for the Travel Grant.
6. How to Apply
Please apply by submitting your abstract. Online submission of abstracts for the theme sessions and digital poster sessions for the Travel Grant can be made from the Submission Page (click the "Travel Grant" checkbox).
Once you have submitted your abstract, please inform the Secretariat by e-mail to apply.
Please make sure to send your CV as well.
7. Award Notification
Each applicant will be notified via email around late June 2025.
8. Penalty for Abstract cancellation or Non-Presentation
If you cancel your abstract or fail to present at the conference after acceptance, you will be prohibited from submitting abstracts to ILC for four (4) years.
*Important note: If you require supporting documents for a visa application, the Secretariat will provide only an Invitation Letter. A “Letter of Guarantee” will not be provided.
